Giuseppe Garibaldi (Ney)
[edit]... that, after composing a portrait bust of Giuseppe Garibaldi, sculptor Elisabet Ney is thought to have provided him with military intelligence during the Third Italian War of Independence?Source: "Garibaldi's short war with Austria was being waged at this time, and ... Elisabet Ney [was] his ardent sympathizer ... [She] engaged in a secret correspondence with [her] hero." (Taylor, Bride Neill (1916). Elisabet Ney, Sculptor. p. 49.)
- Reviewed: West Kill
- Comment: The biography by Cutrer supports the hook more explicitly, but Google has suddenly removed the pages with the relevant text from the Google Books preview; I'll get back my physical copy and add the supporting quotation to this nomination in the next few days.

- I don't like the piping which makes readers think that the article is about portrait bust in general. How is this?
- ALT1: ... that after composing a portrait bust of Giuseppe Garibaldi (pictured), sculptor Elisabet Ney is thought to have provided him with military intelligence during the Third Italian War of Independence?
- Interesting, on good sources, no copyvio obvious, image licensed and desirable to illustrate the topic. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:40, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
