Gertrude Förstel
[edit]- ... that Gertrude Förstel (pictured) was Sophie when Der Rosenkavalier was first performed in Vienna, and sang in the premieres of Tiefland and Mahler's Eighth Symphony? Source: [1]
- Reviewed: Bagel and cream cheese
- Comment: I'll have to get the article moved to match the name in the better sources. It's different (Gertrud) in the German Wikipedia and below the image (but not on it), - confusing.

- Prose length checks out, as does age. The text contains a few redlinks, which should be unlinked (unless/until you create articles for them). The article also relies pretty heavily on just two sources -- this isn't a hard requirement, but could you perhaps look for some more? e.g. I found this one: http://epub.oeaw.ac.at/oebl/oebl_F/Foerstel_Gertrude_1880_1950.xml -Kieran (talk) 16:46, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
- Redlinks are good, and the source is considered the bible on singers. The one you found supports it, and others will support it, or even be derived from it (such as Bayreuth Festival). I have been asked by project opera to write an article on a singer with Kutsch/Riemens as the only source. Rather than looking for more sources, I fill the red links, one a day. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:07, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
