Georg Christian Lehms
[edit]- ... that Bach composed ten cantatas on texts by Georg Christian Lehms (pictured), a council to the Landgrave of Darmstadt who published Teutschlands galante Poetinnen (Germany's gallant poetesses)?

- "council" is clearly not the correct word. Perhaps "councillor"? Looking at the article, maybe "member of the court of"?Brianyoumans (talk) 16:13, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- I took it from the article, but you are right. How about, also from the article:
- ALT1:... that Bach composed ten cantatas on texts by Georg Christian Lehms (pictured), court librarian and poet in Darmstadt, who published Teutschlands galante Poetinnen (Germany's gallant poetesses)? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:00, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- ALT2:... that Bach composed ten cantatas on texts by Georg Christian Lehms (pictured), court librarian and poet in Darmstadt?
- I think shorter is better, and of the two tidbits, I think the Bach tie-in will attract more interest.Brianyoumans (talk) 19:45, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion, but please consider that Bach cantatas get to DYK all the time (1 Jan, 6 Jan, 7 Jan ...) and were the reason to create "him", but he might get a chance to appear with something more unique such as gallant poetesses, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:35, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Well, gallant poetesses it is then! I think that makes a perfectly good hook.Brianyoumans (talk) 22:34, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- ALT3:... that Georg Christian Lehms (pictured), court librarian and poet in Darmstadt, was the author of Teutschlands galante Poetinnen (Germany's gallant poetesses)?
- ALT2:... that Bach composed ten cantatas on texts by Georg Christian Lehms (pictured), court librarian and poet in Darmstadt?
- Review: Looks good - things look like they are cited. The article is new enough and looks good. I couldn't make the word count dingus work, but it looks long enough. I am proposing ALT3 as the hook; I think the others are too long. I think it is a good hook. I'm not positive the image is good to include, it looks a bit small.Brianyoumans (talk) 17:17, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you! The char count is 1780, perhaps I will add a bit until it appears. I will ask for the pic to be cropped, but it also works without it. Please: copy the string next to one of the "tick" symbols above (green "ok" or blue "accepted in good faith") to alert prep builders that it was reviewed, they don't read, smile, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:33, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- May I offer these alternative pictures? (1) of Lehms, cropped to be clearer at a small size; (2) the title page of Teutschlands galante Poetinnen. Moonraker (talk) 18:58, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- I like the newly cropped version of Lehms - you can actually see him. Brianyoumans (talk) 19:15, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you, think the same, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:18, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
