Gabriela Eibenová

Gabriela Eibenová, 2013

Created by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self nominated at 13:00, 17 August 2014 (UTC).

  • DYK check, external links good, no DABs. Problem is that I don't understand the hook, exactly. What do you mean by "stepped in"? Did she fill in for another soprano, which is what I'd take it to mean, or did she just fly in from Prague? A fact, BTW, not mentioned in the main body. Please explain this more exactly, although I must say that I'm not exactly thrilled with this hook.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 23:21, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
  • Not for the hook or article: we choir singers were quite thrilled that she flew in from Prague to fill in for a local soprano who had to cancel on rather short notice for health reasons. The search for someone able to fill in was extremely difficult. Without her coming to sing, I would not have known her ;) - Please suggest better wording for both hook and article.
  • Explain the situation more, that she was a last-minute substitute when the original singer got sick, etc. Unfortunately, I really didn't see anything else that was hook worthy, so I think that we're stuck with this one.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 11:20, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
  • To explain the situation in detail would not be fit for her article, - I tried a bit. The other soprano didn't get sick, but more detail would reveal personal information that I know but am hesitant to give, as her name is mentioned in the review. I am also not a RS ;) - English isn't my first language, I heard "stepped in" and found it kind of quirky for someone actually flying in. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:40, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that Gabriela Eibenová (pictured) flew from Prague to Frankfurt to fill in for a soprano in Bach's Mass in B minor in St. Martin, Idstein? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:40, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
You don't need to explain exactly why she stepped in, but do emphasize that it was a last minute decision/appearance. For the hook, I'd just add "at the last minute".--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:02, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
English is a tricky language. I would hesitate to say "last minute" if it was two weeks (which is short compared to the months of planning) ;) - I changed the article, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:51, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, I missed your response. Looks good--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 22:37, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
No problem. What do you think of running it on the anniversary of the event, 29 September?
ALT2: ... that soprano Gabriela Eibenová (pictured) flew from Prague to Frankfurt to fill in for a soprano in Bach's Mass in B minor in St. Martin, Idstein a year ago? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:44, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
Prefer ALT1. Anniversary sounds good to me.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 05:36, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
I was too tired when I numbered the above ALT1, should have been ALT2. We had a DYK on an anniversary without mentioning it, what do you think, 1 or 2 or choice of promoter? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:22, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
ALT2 only works if it's on the anniversary.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 12:10, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
