Formula One drivers from ...
[edit]- ... that Formula One World Drivers' Champions have come from Argentina, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, and the United States?
- ALT1 I have replaced "Great Britain" with "the United Kingdom" Schwede66 17:02, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

- Comment: This could be timed to coincide with the end of the F1 season or the crowning of the champion (which may or may not be at the same time). That should therefore be Sunday 18th November or Sunday 25th November. A photo of the winner could be included. QPQs to be done... violet/riga [talk] 11:28, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

- General comments:
- There's a lot to do on this and I've split the articles below for (I hope) ease of review. violet/riga [talk] 11:56, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
- One thing I am considering is the option of moving the articles to, for example, Austrian Formula One drivers and any views on that would be gratefully received. violet/riga [talk] 11:57, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
- My view on your considered article moves is that you should go through a formal process. Schwede66 20:30, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

- Checked all the articles. They all are new enough, long enough, and are free from copyvio. They are not promotional and they do not contain content which could be considered an advertisement. Great work on these! Thine Antique Pen (talk) 14:32, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- The basic requirement of our QPQ rules has not been fulfilled... yet. Quid pro quo means a more-or-less equal exchange. There are fourteen (14) submissions here... Please, keep going...
and only one (1) QPQ review. The nominator cannot be credited 14 times with 14 new DYK articles without a fair exchange.Poeticbent talk 17:37, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

How about you get rid of the big red cross and give me more time? The number of QPQs required has always been contentious and I have done two so far, but as it clearly states in my opening "QPQs to be done...". I'm in the process of doing more. violet/riga [talk] 20:22, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- I agree that the big red cross is not justified whatsoever. Poeticbent is inventing a new set of rules on the fly here. Rule H4 encourages you to do hook for hook reviews, and it is great to see that you are working on that, but it is not a requirement, and it never has been. Schwede66 05:42, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Potential images (depending on who wins)
Hook would then include (2012 champion Sebastian Vettel pictured) or (2012 champion Fernando Alonso pictured) after either Germany or Spain. violet/riga [talk] 21:07, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- Per above, and my tick above. Thine Antique Pen (talk) 19:39, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
So it will be...
- ... that Formula One World Drivers' Champions have come from Argentina, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Germany (2012 champion Sebastian Vettel pictured), Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States?
- or...

Comment: I was preparing to run this so it would be on the front page while the race was being run (the television race coverage begins at 16:00 UTC November 25), using the Vettel picture as 2011 champion, which I thought would be more timely, but as you prefer the day after, I've held off. However, I've changed both of the above to use "United Kingdom" rather than "Great Britain" (and realphabetized the lists accordingly), since the article is now named "United Kingdom", with Great Britain getting a redirect. (See ALT1 above, which renamed but didn't realphabetize.) BlueMoonset (talk) 15:16, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for all that. Putting it up for during the race is probably a better idea actually. violet/riga [talk] 16:01, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
