Fiddler's Elbow National Nature Reserve
[edit]( )
- ... that the very rare ghost orchid was once found in Fiddler's Elbow National Nature Reserve, near Monmouth, Wales?
- Reviewed: Holy Cross Church, Gilling
- Comment: A 5X expansion, from 500 characters to 2510 characters. Part of the MonmouthpediA project
Created/expanded by Zangar (talk). Self nom at 17:10, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- DYK Check on May 26, 2012, says 624 readable prose; DYK check today says 2,471 readable prose. It would need to be 3,120 to be 5X expansion, but you can still bring it up to that. Your hook is interesting and sourced. Duplication Detector finds no copyvio issues. NPOV. QPQ checks out. Article is well sourced at every paragraph. Image used in the article has copyright that checks out. All it needs is bringing it up to 3,120 readable prose. Maile66 (talk) 20:13, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review - I took the start of the expansion from this version on 18 June (after removing an unsourced promotional sentence), which I make to be 500 characters, so I'd need to make 2,500 characters for 5X - so I'll try my best to get it above this threshold. Hopefully this will be ok? Cheers, Zangar (talk) 00:03, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- OK. I don't know how you measured the prose, but I just use DYKcheck Do you happen to have that loaded on your Toolbox? It makes it so much easier. Maile66 (talk) 00:10, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- No, I don't I'm afraid - basically I went to that version, copy-pasted the text (unformatted) into word, deleted the ref calls and titles and did a word/character count. If you look at the difference between DYK Check's 26 May and my 18 June start point, I deleted 124 characters of prose. I make it that there's 2,598 characters of prose now in the most recent version - is this ok? I might use DYK Check in future, but unfortunately it looks like you can't specify the exact start point of expansion with it. Cheers, Zangar (talk) 00:28, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- DYKCheck is designed to catch the start point of expansion. See below what it told me about your expansion just now.
- QPQ done by Zangar on June 25, 2012
- Created on March 10, 2009, with readable prose on that date of 624 characters
- DYK Check now confirms 5X expansion, "Assuming article is at 5x now, expansion began 8 edits ago on June 18, 2012"
- Hook is short enough at 111 characters, and referenced at end of sentence
- NPOV, interesting and informative article about a nature preserve in Wales
- Duplication Detector run, no copyvio found
- Every paragraph sourced
- Image used in the article has copyright that checks out
