Ernst Friedrich von Liphart
[edit]- ... that before Tsar Nicholas (pictured by Lipgart) gave his Empress a piano, he had Earnest Lipgart paint 100 figures on it?

- 1. Article meets DYK criteria (created on 31 December, readable prose size at 3358 characters, not a stub). 2. Hook is referenced and verified on the website of Nicholas and Alexandra - The Last Imperial Family of Tsarist Russia exhibition). 3. Just some concerns about the image(s) though: firstly, the image of Tsar Nicholas II proposed for the DYK entry as he isn't the subject of the nominated article—there is an self-portrait of Lipgart in the infobox, could that be used instead? Also with both these images, there is a warning on the Commons files that they must have a PD-US tag, can this be sorted out? 4. As this is a self-nomination, you need to do a "quid-pro-quo" (QPQ) review of another nomination, please let me know if/when you have done one. --Canley (talk) 05:36, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Canley - QPQ = Osvaldo Civile. I have added a tag for US copyright as requested. I'm not sure I understand your question about the choice of images. The picture chosen is by Lipgart and is a lot more eye-catching than any of the other pictures. If someone wants to propose an alternative hook then please have a go but I believe that this is the most hooky image available. (A free image of the piano would be my first choice but I cant find one). cheers Victuallers (talk) 08:42, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
