Ellington (horse), Daniel O'Rourke (horse)
[edit]- ... that winning time of 3.04 by Ellington (pictured) at the 1856 Derby Stakes was the slowest ever recorded, breaking the "record" of 3.02 set in 1852 by Daniel O'Rourke?

- Although nominated a bit late, I think these 2 articles meet the DYK requirements of length, newness, content and reliable sourcing. However, I can't find information on the times taken by these 2 horses in the Derby in the source supplied for the hook. This long source seems to be entirely about the 2008 Derby, or have I missed the appropriate sentence? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:39, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- it is there if you Control+F "Ellington", but it is a very long text so not ideal. I will try to find a more concise version and add. Tigerboy1966 (talk) 11:59, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
