Elli Hatschek
[edit]- ... that a Nazi court sentenced Elli Hatschek to death for Wehrkraftzersetzung, a crime that included undermining the military?
- ALT1:... that Elli Hatschek, her husband, Paul and his daughter, Krista Lavíčková were all guillotined by the Nazis within months of each other?

- Comment: The ALT1 hook can be amended to the word "executed" if "guillotined" is too graphic. I am halfway inclined to do it myself, but I think "guillotined" will attract more attention.
- Also, this article is a translation from the German Wikipedia and was very short. Because I knew some of the background information that was not in the German original could be found in an article I wrote last year, I fleshed out the second paragraph with a few details from European Union (resistance group). - Hook: Prefer ALT1. Both short enough. ALT1 is more interesting. Hook fact checks out.
- Article: Long enough, new enough. At least 1 citation per paragraph. Spotcheck looks fine, AGF on German sources. References need clean-up, no publisher information.
- Please add publisher information. Crisco 1492 (talk) 11:51, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

- I think this is a well done article and quite fascinating, but doesn't anybody else think this article isn't WP:Notable? Elli only seems notable due to her relationship to her husband and the fact that she was executed, more or less for her husband's activities. I think this article should be merged with the article on her husband, Paul Hatschek. Plot Spoiler (talk) 04:31, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
- Plot Spoiler, this article was translated directly from the German WP article—and expanded as much as I could manage. I don't have a strong opinion as to whether or not this article is merged or not, but I think the notability requirement is met because there are references to her in both books and other third-party sites, though it's true that there isn't much known about her. Also, the nom can be expanded to a three-article nom, as I mentioned in an early comment, well before the five-day cut-off, since I quickly did both the articles on her husband and his daughter after writing this one. Also, thank you Crisco for adding the photo of Elli Hatschek. I hadn't realized that it could be added and it does lend so much to the article. All those Gestapo photos are extraordinary. - I meant to mention before that the notability of Elli Hatschek is not that she was executed, but the reason she was executed. She was not accused of high treason, as were most German resistance members. There was nothing I could find about the charges against her other than Wehrkraftzersetzung, "undermining the military" or "harming military morale". She was executed for using banned speech and I think that makes her notable. Marrante (talk) 06:50, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
- Regarding image: You're welcome, Marrante. Photos of deceased people, especially those who died prior to the internet era, are often accepted as fair-use.
- Regarding article: I think she passes WP:GNG. The article already cites two blurbs about her, and I'm pretty sure there should be contemporary sources about her. Crisco 1492 (talk) 07:38, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
