Edith Emerson
[edit]- ... that American painter Edith Emerson was the curator and director of the Woodmere Art Museum in Philadelphia for over 30 years?
- ALT1
... that Edith Emerson was the curator and director of the Woodmere Art Museum in Philadelphia for over 30 years?
- Reviewed: new nominator; QPQ not required
Created by Kmdevoe (talk). Nominated by Dorevabelfiore (talk) at 02:40, 18 March 2016 (UTC).
- Comment only More concise ALT1 added. "American" at least is self-evident. Edwardx (talk) 14:05, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
- I actually prefer ALT, since ALT1 loses the information that she herself was a painter. The longer version is well within the required length. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 20:13, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
- I believe that this article currently satisfies most of the DYK criteria: It was moved from user space on 16 March 2016 and nominated two days later, it is over 1500 characters, it is neutral. Photographs shown on the page are either pre-1923 or put up by the photographer. The suggested hooks are under 200 characters, properly cited, and interesting. QPQ is not required, since the nominator is still under the 5 free DYK limit. However, @Kmdevoe: @Dorevabelfiore: there are a couple of sentences/paragraphs that are not currently cited; this needs to be done. See "They traveled abroad" and "In 1979, Emerson was instrumental". There were also a number of close paraphrases: I've gone through the article with the Duplication Detector and addressed the ones that I found. You can take a look at the history to see the changes I made. Since I personally know the nominator, and have now made a number of edits to the page, someone else should re-review this once the outstanding improvements are made. - Giving this an appropriate icon; waiting on action from nominator before calling for a new reviewer. Also struck ALT1; the original hook is more interesting because it gives context. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:17, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
- Suggested changes have been made and this is now ready for review. Thank you. Dorevabelfiore (talk) 19:07, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
- New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. Hook ref verified and cited inline. The QPQ requirement is for the nominator, not the page creator, but nominator also has less than 5 DYK credits, so no QPQ needed. Good to go. Yoninah (talk) 21:07, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
