- New article; however, a stub. Also, much of the text is not supported by the references. You indicate that Perry worked as an oiler, but references 1 and 3 indicate trimmer. Also, you give details of rescue and these are not addressed in the references listed. Only ref 1 even mentions it, and states only "in which lifeboat is unnown." (sic) You state that "Perry worked for the local industry." What industry? Finally, your assertion used in both the hook and the last line of the article is not addressed in reference 4. Fixed, check it now please. Yes, but I took this information from a blog so I used the other references, can I use the blog as a source? Besides, in reference 4, there's not the hook but he's listed as a victim of the blitz... isn't that enough? I also changed the hook and the sources now Nienk (talk) 12:07, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- Your hook is better. However, the article is still a stub and much of it is not supported by reliable references. Most of the first two sentences is covered by ref 1. The third sentence is not addressed in any of the sources. Sentence four is addressed in ref 2. Ref 3 the blog/forum is not considered a reliable source by many on Wikipedia. However, I would keep it, because it can provide valuable information. It should serve as a starting point to find additional information and sources. Ref 4 is just the list of names of those killed in Southampton in the Blitz, but with supplemental info on Southampton and the Blitz. Much of the content of sentences 5-6 and 8-11 is not addressed in any of the reliable sources. However, this is definitely an article that can be developed with time and effort. For example, you refer to both World War I and World War II in the article. Find reliable sources for Perry's WWI service and for the Southampton Blitz of WWII (ref 4 has some of that info.) Every fact in your article needs to be based on your sources. Anne (talk) 03:35, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
