Dungeons 3
[edit]... that many reviewers thought that Dungeons 3 relied on humor to the point of becoming annoying?- ALT1:... that the video game Dungeons 3 was described as the closest its developer came to creating a successor to the popular Dungeon Keeper series?
ALT2:... that in the video game Dungeons 3, your goal is to conquer a peaceful kingdom for an evil overlord?

- Hi, I came by to promote this, but I don't see the point of the game, as expressed in ALT2, in the article. I see a lot of description of what the player does, but not the player's goal. Could you point that out to me? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 17:21, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Well, that's basically what the whole plot section is about but I'm happy to include it explicitly: [1]. Hope that's okay. If not, how about:
- ALT3:
... that you can build your own dungeon in Dungeons 3 to raise an army to fight the forces of good? - ALT4: ...
that Dungeons 3 was the first title in the Dungeons series to be released for five different platforms at the same time?
- ALT3:

- @SoWhy: actually, it wasn't clear to me, but your edit makes it very clear. I was going to promote ALT1, even though I could hear complaints coming for it being offbeat. But I really like your ALT4, so I'm approving that. ALT4 hook ref verified and cited inline. Rest of review per Cognissonance. ALT4 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 19:32, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

- ALT4 has been challenged at WT:DYK as insufficiently interesting and apparently incorrect. Gatoclass (talk) 17:36, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
- Without having verified them, ALTs 0 and 1 look viable to me, and it's not clear from the discussion why they were struck. ALT2 is definitely out as apart from the fact that it violates C6, you could say more or less the same about a million games. I personally might accept a modification of ALT3 but I think it too would probably get challenged per rule C6. Gatoclass (talk) 18:37, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Gatoclass: Well, ALT0 references the most common criticism, so there's [2] and [3] as English sources to back it up. The first one also says Dungeons 3 is the closest a game has come to the charm of Dungeon Keepers [sic] since Dungeon Keepers [sic] 2. and [4] says (translated) In our review we explain why the German studio Realmforge came as close to the grand rolemodel Dungeon Keeper as never before on their third try. Maybe Cognissonance can explain why they struck ALT0 and ALT1? Regards SoWhy 19:10, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
- @SoWhy, Gatoclass, and Yoninah: I struck the hooks because I didn't find them as interesting as the one that reveals a pretty unconventional plot. If that hook cannot be promoted, I'm removing the strike from the second, altering it a bit, and striking the other one. Cognissonance (talk) 01:15, 25 July 2018 (UTC)

- Although I had no intention of returning to this nomination as I merely pulled it after a complaint about the hook, since BlueMoonset has requested further input, I have verified ALT1. Gatoclass (talk) 09:55, 25 August 2018 (UTC)
