Dreikönigskirche, Frankfurt
... that the Dreikönigskirche in Frankfurt (pictured) offers Bach's cantata Gottlob! nun geht das Jahr zu Ende (Praise God! For now the year is ending) on New Year's Eve 2020?Source: several
- Reviewed: It's Elementary: Talking About Gay Issues in School
- Comment: I noticed that today. It would be good for New Year's Eve, or 6 January, Day of the 3 Kings.
5x expanded by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 22:51, 27 December 2020 (UTC).
- 5x expansion verified. New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced. As most refs are foreign-language, unable to check for close paraphrasing. I tagged one sentence that needs a cite. Images are freely licensed. QPQ done.
- The hook fact, though, appears in a paragraph that is rather WP:UNDUE. The latest year you talk about is 1981, and suddenly we have two concerts in 2020. Are you able to add more details to fill in the missing years? Or perhaps a different hook angle to run on January 6 would be more appropriate. Yoninah (talk) 21:54, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for looking. I said it just for the fun of the phrase, DYK? The next cantata is planned for 17 January, - nothing specifically for 6 January (perhaps because those are too festive and would be better with a choir which is not possible these days). The set for 6 January has a fine pic for the occasion, better than relevance per church name alone. I think the article has already too much music vs. architecture, which adding missing years would make worse. I'd rather spend my limited time expanding the two cantatas, and Psalm 71 which we read in yesterday's service. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:03, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
- So what hook angle do you want to propose? Yoninah (talk) 23:09, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
- ALT1: ... that after the Dreikönigskirche (pictured)
was not destroyedescaped destruction in World War II, it became Frankfurt's leading venue of church music performances?

- ALT2: ... that the Dreikönigskirche, a major venue of church music in Frankfurt, has offered cantata services (example pictured) even during the COVID-19 pandemic? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:54, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you, these are both very good hooks. I tweaked the wording in ALT1 and added a link in ALT2. Both hook refs are foreign-language, AGF and cited inline. Image is public domain (nice work, Gerda!). There is just the matter of a "citation needed" on one fact. Yoninah (talk) 13:43, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you! I added 2 refs. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:20, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
