DreamBooth
... that ethical concerns have been raised with DreamBooth's ability to train AI models to imitate the style of human artists? - Comment: As nominator, personally I would prefer ALT1 or ALT2 if possible. I'm also open to other hook suggestions too, of course. --benlisquareT•C•E 23:21, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- Article is new enough, long enough, largely translated from Japanese sources whose text-source integrity I can confirm via Google Translate but for whose sufficiently distant paraphrasing I will assume good faith. Hooks are interesting and cited. Prefer ALT2 (despite the long parenthetical, this shouldn't matter per Wikipedia:Did you know/Hook length) for avoiding the "is a..." construction that seems to be frowned upon around these parts. Normally I'd be a bit weary of realistic machine-generated images of real people's likeness, but given it's from a Creative Commons-sourced dataset and depicts Jimmy doing a neutral/positive activity—and the fact that Jimmy isn't a stranger to being memed on this site (Category:Modified images of Jimmy Wales)—I believe it should be fine. - I was going to promote ALT0, but the source, waxy.org, is not a WP:RS. The about page describes it as Andy Baio's "personal sandbox". -- RoySmith (talk) 19:04, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- Would you like me to remove the one sentence from the "Usage" section which uses that ref before moving forward? Or would that not be necessary? --benlisquareT•C•E 21:59, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Benlisquare: Yes, either find a better source, or remove the material that depends on waxy. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:42, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- @RoySmith: Alright, all done, I've removed the sentence that was reliant upon that ref. Could you please check again? Cheers, --benlisquareT•C•E 21:44, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- I've struck ALT0 which depends on waxy.com. I'll leave it to somebody else to look at the other hooks. -- RoySmith (talk) 02:06, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Benlisquare: I'm gonna promote this without the image, because it's not quite clear at ~180px across and I'm not quite a fan of depicting a deepfake of a living person. If you wanted to do a single image of something that isn't biographical, I'm definitely down for something wonky :) let me know on my talk page. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/her) 01:47, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
