Dorit Cypis
[edit]... that Israeli-American artist Dorit Cypis moved to Minneapolis because she "wasn't interested in and [was] disoriented by the hype-consumerism [she] experienced" in Los Angeles?
- Reviewed: not a self-nom.
Created by Calliopejen1 (talk). Nominated by Chris troutman (talk) at 23:33, 12 March 2014 (UTC).
- Comment This may not be the best hook because I suspect that "hype-consumerism" as it appears in the source may be an error in transcription (more likely she said "hyper-consumerism"). Calliopejen1 (talk) 03:49, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
- Nominated three days after creation, and is about 2kB, satisfying date and length criteria. QPQ not required for third-party nomination, but one is always welcome. I will assume good faith for the three offline refs (refs #2, #3, and #5). Ref #6 is not needed, as it is to Cypis' own website, and is used to support two claims which already have citations; add it as an external link instead. You may want to consider converting ref #8 to use {{cite interview}} instead, though this isn't required for DYK. The last paragraph, consisting of a single sentence, has no supporting citations. The hook is short enough and sourced in the article, though I agree with the above comment that perhaps a different, or slightly altered, hook may be more suitable. - Ref 6 provides additional details not present in the other two sources, so it is not redundant. Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:15, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
- Ref #6 is the subject's personal website, and is not a reliable source for such claims. (Far too many people have claimed credentials they never obtained.) I've made the change myself after a quick internet search yielded a reliable source for the info. There is still the remaining issue of the paragraph with no citations. - @Mindmatrix and Calliopejen1: I sourced the final sentence. Chris Troutman (talk) 22:49, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
- Looks OK. Good to go. Mindmatrix 22:56, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
