Dongfeng EQ2050
... that the Dongfeng EQ2050 was only produced because of the Humvee's prominence when it was shown on TV in the Gulf War?- ALT1:
... that there were allegations that the Dongfeng EQ2050's quality was bad that Chinese soldiers were killed in the 2020 China–India skirmishes? - ALT2:
... that the Dongfeng EQ2050 was made when some imported Hummer H1s were reverse engineered?

- Comment Major copyright issues given by Earwig's Copyvio Detector. Please completely reword the parts that are flagged by the detector as they are clear violations of WP copyright policy and will prevent the article from passing this process. Footlessmouse (talk) 23:49, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Footlessmouse: Reworded parts where it can clash with copyright violations based on Earwig. Ominae (talk) 02:41, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks! This was not a full review, though. Just a copyvio check. I have marked it for a new review so there would be no confusion. Great work! Footlessmouse (talk) 08:28, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- *@Footlessmouse: Not a problem. Ominae (talk) 12:03, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- The article is long enough and new enough. All three hooks are directly cited. However, there are still some direct matches to the text from the references per Earwig. The lead needs to be expanded per WP:LEAD and the bare URL references need to be formatted. SL93 (talk) 23:52, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
- @SL93: Reworded it. I swear that those junk sites are copy/pasting stuff from the wiki. Giving me a lot of work to do. Ominae (talk) 05:41, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
- I highly doubt that those sources are copying from the article so quickly, especially when I just fixed the last of the copyright violations for you and those were there yesterday. The lead was expanded and the references were formatted. The promoter can choose the hook. SL93 (talk) 17:04, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but I can't even understand the first two hooks. Please also fix this run-on sentence in the lead:
The vehicle was created after the People's Liberation Army (PLA) did not want to manufacture a similar vehicle before the Humvee's use in the Gulf War convinced PLA officers that it can be used in the military.
And this:The EQ2050 was built wih the Hummer H1 chassis used as its basis when the vehicle was first built and powered by a Dongfeng built Cummins EQB150-20 110 kW/2,700R turbo-charged Diesel engine with the option of using a U.S.-made V8 diesel engine.

- Yoninah I'm going to expand the first two hooks with information from the article.
- ALT0a:
that the People's Liberation Army produced the Dongfeng EQ2050 due to the Humvee being shown in action on international television during the Gulf War? - ALT1a:
that there were allegations that the Dongfeng EQ2050's quality contributed to the deaths of Chinese soldiers during the 2020 China–India skirmishes?SL93 (talk) 00:50, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- Yoninah I copyedited the article so now someone needs to verify my two hooks if ALT2 isn't used. SL93 (talk) 00:57, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
-
- @SL93: Thank you for the alts. ALT1a is too negative. ALT0a is a good angle but I would suggest writing it this way:
- ALT0b: ... that the People's Liberation Army developed the Dongfeng EQ2050 armored vehicle after seeing the Humvee in action on television during the Gulf War?
- I edited the article again. This sentence still doesn't make sense:
The EQ2050 was built with the Hummer H1 chassis used as its basis when the vehicle was first built.
I also tagged a sentence that starts out talking about one thing and ends up talking about two. Yoninah (talk) 23:40, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- Yoninah I fixed the tagged sentence. The second vehicle is the Dongfeng EQ2058 (the EQ2058 is mentioned under the Variants section). That only leaves the first sentence and I have no idea how to fix that or even what it means. I'm hoping that Ominae can help. Otherwise, I feel like the sentence can be removed. SL93 (talk) 23:46, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- Yoninah I fixed the sentence based on the reference. I wouldn't have been able to if the article chassis didn't already exist. SL93 (talk) 23:57, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

- Hi, I came by to promote this, but I can't even understand the first two hooks. Please also fix this run-on sentence in the lead:
- Yoninah I was wondering about the watermark issue a while back and I found https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Watermarks which states, "Visible watermarks are discouraged, as they detract from the usability of a work. Authors are encouraged to use the guide at Commons:Enforcing license terms#Tools for identifying your work. However, uploading of files with visible but relatively unobtrusive watermarks is merely discouraged, not prohibited". SL93 (talk) 00:09, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- @SL93: I could crop it out. But I wonder if the image is correctly licensed, as it carries a copyright. Yoninah (talk) 00:14, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yoninah I did more research. I think that the image should be removed per improper licensing and that it should be nominated for deletion at Commons (I would be willing to nominate it for deletion). The uploader's Flickr profile states, "You may not copy or use my shots, specially by cropping the watermarks, unless you notify me. Peace!" SL93 (talk) 00:17, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- @SL93: yes, please go ahead and nominate it for AFD at Commons. I did that with another image that had a copyright notice on it. BTW, Prep 4 is open if you want to build it over the next two days. Yoninah (talk) 00:19, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
