  • I prefer ALT1 -- Hook fact is footnoted, and hook source is online, verifiable and appear to be reliable. Hook short enough. Article new enough and long enough (2514 characters per DYK check). Refs in proper format. However, the second paragraph of the article has no footnotes. Random googling of various sentences indicated that this paragraph contains text that is rather similar to that on this Amazon.ca webpage. Please fix. Thanks. --PFHLai (talk) 21:18, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for reviewing. The similarity in words is because I'd based that section on similar parts of the Anilus Joseph and Olmeus Charles articles (which must've been lifted for that Amazon page). I've now rewritten and added inline cirations. Cheers, Whouk (talk) 09:42, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
NB: I've just changed "in four Olympics" to "at four Olympics" in ALT1 Whouk (talk) 09:44, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the rewrite. I suggest using ALT1. The original hook is something he claimed after the fact. ALT2 is not a nice thing to highlight, esp. without context. --PFHLai (talk) 21:19, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
The concern about the original hook can be easily fixed by a minor rewrite: ... that Haitian runner Dieudonné LaMothe said he completed the marathon at the 1984 Summer Olympics in fear for his life? --Orlady (talk) 14:19, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
