- This article is part of a student project and was new enough when submitted and is long enough. The image is in the public domain but does not particularly enhance the nomination. The hook facts are sourced, the article is neutral and otherwise reaches the DYK criteria. I could not assess whether it had any plagiarism or close paraphrasing issues because of lack of access to the sources. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:40, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not sure this hook would be interesting to a general audience because of how technical the hook is. Perhaps:
- ALT1 ... that detrital zircon geochronology uses zirconium silicate (pictured) to determine the age of sedimentary rock?
- That seems accurate and more accessible to a general audience. Wugapodes [thɔk] [ˈkan.ˌʧɻɪbz] 05:58, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- I have changed to lower case "z", and added pictured but ALT1 is OK with me. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:45, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
