Democratic National Committee chairmanship election, 2005
[edit]- ... that Howard Dean (pictured) was elected in 2005 as Chair of the Democratic National Committee despite strong opposition from Democratic Party leaders?
- Easton, Nina (January 30, 2005). "A 'stop-Dean' effort arises at DNC forum: Stakes high as party seeks new chairman". The Boston Globe. Retrieved November 15, 2016.

- Comment: Might need help thinking of a better hook. Maybe it should specifically say Pelosi and Reid were opposed to Dean.

@Muboshgu: Glad to see that, with party leadership elections in the news right now, coverage is being extended to past elections as well! New and long enough, within policy, Earwig detects no copyvios, QPQ satisfactory. The article and cited source do not explicitly characterize the opposition as strong, merely that Reid and Pelosi endorsed someone else. I think the following would be more accurate and also more interesting, what do you think? Antony–22 (talk⁄contribs) 10:13, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- ALT1 ... that Howard Dean (pictured) was elected in 2005 as Chair of the Democratic National Committee, despite both Democratic Congressional leaders endorsing Tim Roemer instead?
- ALT1a ... that Howard Dean (pictured) was elected in 2005 as Chair of the Democratic National Committee, despite both Democratic Congressional leaders endorsing another candidate?
- This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts for ALT1 are established through inline citations to reliable sources, and I have added ALT1a which I prefer. The image is appropriately licensed, the article is neutral and I detected no policy issues. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:25, 8 December 2016 (UTC).
