Daniel Tilton
[edit]- ... that one of the first three judges of the Mississippi Territory, Daniel Tilton, lacked any legal experience prior to his appointment? (link to source)

- Comment: This is the nominator here; for any reviewers that might notice how this article was in fact nominated eight days after its creation, please refer to this talk page. The DYK was submitted for review 36 minutes after the deadline. alphalfalfa(talk) 02:50, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- This article is just long enough and is accepted as new enough. The hook is interesting and cited and is accepted in good faith as I cannot access the relevant page of the book source. The article is neutral and Earwig did not indicate any problems with copyright issues. A QPQ has been done but was not in fact needed as this is Alphalfalfa's first DYK. This nomination is good to go. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:46, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, and formatted the article with subheads. I removed the tiltonbranches.com citation, though, as it is not a reliable source. Can you provide a reliable source for the biographical information? (Perhaps the Dictionary of North Carolina Biography that I added from the David Ker article?) Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 08:27, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
- Drive-by fixes: Found a couple refs to take care of most of what was covered by tiltonbrances.com; the only part that was covered by that site that it not now cited is Tilton going to Dartmouth. That could be either cited, deleted, or let slide. --Usernameunique (talk) 02:07, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you, @Usernameunique:, for taking care of that. Restoring tick per Cwmhiraeth's review. Yoninah (talk) 22:46, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
