DRDO Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon
[edit]- ... that DRDO Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon is India's first fully indigenous weapon? Source: [1]: "Well, there are many firsts to Smart Anti Airfield weapon. Apart from being touted as the first 'in the world', the smart bomb is indeed the first hundred per cent 'Made in India' weapon. "All the prestigious missile and weapon systems etc always had imported components and even involved Transfer of Technology in many products, but only in SAAW, India can brag of complete indigenized production starting from the material to the technology as well as all the systems and the sub-systems"

- New, long, neutral article. Hook checks out. No apparent copyvios. No images used in article to check. First DYK for MBlaze Lightning and hence QPQ not needed. We should use official reference for specifications of the weapon and no such are being used now. Reading through various references I see it being described for range from 80 to 100km and weighing 120 to 125 to 150kgs. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 04:32, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Dharmadhyaksha: The official release[1] as well as other news organizations says the weapon is in the 120 kg weight class and has a range of 100 km. "The New Indian Express"[2] says the weapon weighs around 125 kg. TOI article dates back to 23 May when DRDO conducted only one test. —MBlaze Lightning T 11:40, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- Please use PIB's reference then for these specifications in the article. Am not fan of newspapers for such info. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 11:46, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
