- I'll start to review this one. Interesting article.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 00:36, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- I prefer the first hook. How about something like ...that the Austrian master metalsmith Cyril Colnik was a pacifist and preferred to shut down his workshop than produce armaments for World War I? Feel free to adapt the hook the way you like but it is usually preferred that the article presented in a DYK (this time Cyril Colnik) comes first.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 01:04, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you @Paradise Chronicle:. I like your ideas for the hook. Look forward to your thoughts on the DYK. Happy Holidays Bruxton (talk) 23:37, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
It would be good if you'd formulate the additional hook yourself. Then I can review it. If I craft the hook, someone else needs to approve it.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 05:58, 28 December 2021 (UTC)

Overall: after thinking it through, I guess ALT1 with the hands is a better hook. Some will probably think Colnik is a "clock healer". An article about an interesting topic and person. QPQ done, good to go.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 19:33, 28 December 2021 (UTC) Paradise Chronicle (talk) 19:33, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Paradise Chronicle: I think ALT0 actually has a much more interesting nugget in there, but it needs some punchifying. How about an

- I thought the fact that he was Austrian and had his shop in the USA during World War I, which was also fought against Austria might make hook ALT1 less an issue. I've also seen in one article that he guarded a Germania statue during the war in the workshop. Then I thought if a reader gets interested like me and also reads this much, it might cause some doubts like it did with me. I didn't find anything about an involvement in the war, but it caused doubts, so I preferred to focus on the metalwork. If you still believe hook Altb0 is better, then lets go with that one.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 19:33, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- I think that even if Colnik did it for patriotic/nationalistic reasons, rather than pacifistic reasons, I honestly still find the hook a refreshing change—a look into someone's brain, their heart, their motives, and not just their work. So, yeah, i'm leaning towards ALT0b being more captivating than ALT1—this'll need someone else to promote, though. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/she) 22:22, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
