Hook (I rather prefer the original) is nicely paraphrased (it was quite a tedious job). The text is sufficiently long, and the page new enough. Appropriate citations. No plagiarism or NPOV problem detected. QPQ done. It is good to go as the original because the statement embodies, I belief, the most uinque feature of the river.
