Coffee production in Peru
[edit]... that 29% of the coffee production in Peru (pictured) includes the caturra variety of arabica?
Created by Rosiestep (talk), Nvvchar (talk), and Dr. Blofeld (talk). Nominated by Nvvchar (talk) at 19:34, 13 June 2015 (UTC).
- This article was created within seven days of its nomination, its prose is the appropriate length, and the article meets core Wikipedia policies and guidelines. The hook meets DYK formatting guidelines, and its facts are verifiable and cited with inline citations in the article. A QPQ review has also been completed. The image is licensed CC BY-SA 3.0, and is therefore good to go for inclusion in DYK. -- West Virginian (talk) 17:07, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- Once the PD content is excluded, this falls short of the minimum original content requirement. Nikkimaria (talk) 14:49, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Nikkimaria:Thanks for the review. More text has been added now which makes it eligible without the PD text.--Nvvchar. 18:55, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, but some of that added text includes overly close paraphrasing - compare for example "This organization provides direct access to international markets for thou¬sands of farm fam¬i¬lies" with "This organization provides direct access to international markets for thousands of farm families". - @Nikkimaria: Thanks for the review. I've tried to address this issue with some c/e. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:42, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- Better, thanks. One more question: the hook suggests that 29% of production is caturra, while the article says 29% of area - which is correct? Nikkimaria (talk) 00:19, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
- I can see the confusion so I went to the source, and then edited the article, and now offer:
- ALT1: ... that 90% of the Arabica coffee produced in Peru (coffee beans pictured) is either typica or caturra? --Rosiestep (talk) 04:14, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
- Good to go with ALT1. Nikkimaria (talk) 04:41, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
