- While both hooks are referenced inline; I am tilting towards preference for ALT1. DTM (talk) 10:58, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- Comment: AfD just closed as delete and redirect to this article, so no issues there anymore I don't think. AleatoryPonderings (talk) 13:28, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

- @DiplomatTesterMan: Thank you for taking up the review. I have added the above statement (ALT2) after the DYK nomination, it would need a piped link to the article. -- Ab207 (talk) 17:45, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- Ab207, although Battle of Palnadu is not the dyk nom article, it is linked in ALT2. I had a glance at it and is in terrible shape. Please sort out the article a little bit at least if you want to go ahead with ALT2 as well. DTM (talk) 05:28, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- Or unlink it if that is easier. DTM (talk) 05:34, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- @DiplomatTesterMan: I reckon fixing that article would take some time as it may require an expertise in Indian history. Which pic do you prefer for ALT2? -- Ab207 (talk) 06:46, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- I think the first pic is more catchy, so IMHO it would be better if the hook could accommodate that pic instead. ALT1 is fine but seems to have issues with grammar. The part of the sentence after the comma doesn't really connect with the part before the comma. SD0001 (talk) 05:44, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- SD0001, Modyifing the first part as "... that despite the ban on betting cockfights in India", would make that connection. We can also present the figure as ₹9 billion for commonality and conciseness. Any other suggestions to improve the sentence? -- Ab207 (talk) 07:17, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

We will go with ALT1 and the first image. (Then ALT0 and ALT2, in that order, are also available, but I think ALT1 is alright as per above conversation.) Confirming the conversion using the INR Convert template > ₹900 crore (equivalent to ₹11 billion or US$130 million in 2023) All that is left is to confirm the wording of ALT1, how about:
- ALT1.0:... that despite the ban on cockfighting in India (pictured), an estimated amount of over ₹900 crore (US$130 million) was wagered in the state of Andhra Pradesh in 2019?
- ALT1.1:... that despite a nationwide ban on cockfighting in India (pictured), an estimated amount of over ₹900 crore (US$130 million) was wagered in the state of Andhra Pradesh in 2019?
- ALT1.2:... that an estimated amount of over ₹900 crore (US$130 million) was wagered on cockfighting in India in 2019?
- ALT1.3:... that despite a nationwide ban cockfighting in India is a multi-million dollar sport?
Any other ways to present ALT1? DTM (talk) 08:07, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- ALT1.4... that despite a nationwide ban, an estimated amount of over ₹900 crore (US$130 million) was wagered on cockfighting in India (pictured) in 2019?
- @DiplomatTesterMan: Thank you for that paraphrasing, I added about ban info in ALT1.2 to explain why this is significant, along with the picture. -- Ab207 (talk) 13:20, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
