City of Denver (train), Pacific series (railcar)

[edit]

  • Comment: City of Denver is a 5x expansion; Pacific series is a new article.

5x expanded by Mackensen (talk). Self nominated at 16:53, 9 November 2013 (UTC).

City of Denver was recently expanded more than 5x; Pacific-series (railcar) is new and large enough. No apparent copyright or plagiarism concerns. Hook is appropriate and cited to off-line sources which can be accepted on good faith. Two questions:

  1. Should not the hyphen be dropped from Pacific-series (railcar)? The term is used as a noun, not an adjectival phrase.
  2. The image shows the City of Denver in its guise before its re-equipping in 1953–54, whereas the hook is based on the new consists. The reader is likely to infer that the image shows the new consist, but it does not. Given the hook, should this image be used?

  • You may be right about the name that; the other example is Pine-series (railcar). I have no objection to a rename. I've seen sources use both. I don't believe we have an image which shows both items together (the images of the Pacific series are all Amtrak-era), so dropping the image altogether is probably appropriate. • I've renamed the article and struck the image. Mackensen (talk) 03:53, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

Meets all criteria. Kablammo (talk) 15:07, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
