Cider with Rosie (film)

[edit]
  • ... that Cider with Rosie could not be filmed in the village of Slad, which it was about, as the village had changed too much? Source: Barbara Hooper, Cider with Laurie: Laurie Lee Remembered (Peter Owen Ltd, 1999), p. 181

Formatted, and will review. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:16, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
Interesting, on good sources, offline sources accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. - Hook: you are so great in wording, - can we avoid the duplication of village. Or word something about the road in the other place being gravelled? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:24, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt Good point, have amended. Moonraker (talk) 18:52, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
Thank you! - One more thought: I had to look back when reading a name, twice. Of course, writing an article you know who's who, but as one-time reader, I was confused by Laurie after Lee for a while, and again by Emily Mortimer. - I wonder if in a plot about an adolescent, we might use the given name? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:48, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, he's also remembered by people of my age as an elderly poet and literary fellow. I take your point that there's a quotation on the page which calls him Laurie, coming near the end of a paragraph which calls him Lee. My instinct is to keep the stiff upper lip here, but I have turned one Lee into Laurie Lee, to fend off the sudden jarring jolt experienced by migratory visitors from the continent of Europe. • Hi, I came by to promote this, but do not see an inline cite for the hook fact. Yoninah (talk) 00:30, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
  • Thanks, Yoninah, it was the one later in the paragraph, as repeated above. I have duplicated it to fix the problem. Moonraker (talk) 09:39, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you. Restoring tick per Gerda Arendt's review. Yoninah (talk) 11:58, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
