- I think the inserted phrase after "that" doesn't read as well. I'd suggest doing it as a piped link, thusly:
- ALT1... that Chloe Magee became the first ever Irish badminton player to win a match at the Olympics?
- ALT1... that Chloe Magee became the first ever Irish badminton player to win a match at the Olympics?

- I don't think doing it like that is a good idea, it could give the impression that she was only the first in 2008, perhaps it would work okay if the comma were removed from the original hook? - Basement12 (T.C) 20:21, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- I wouldn't pipe "Olympics" to "2008 Summer Olympics", but ALT1 w/o the piping would be fine. Otherwise, the phrase can be set off by commas: "... that, at the 2008 Summer Games, Chloe Magee ..." My personal preference would be for
ALT1 minus the piping, as the year doesn't really at anythinga hook that includes the date, as otherwise readers will naturally assume it is talking about the 2012 games. --ThaddeusB (talk) 18:44, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Works for me. Yes, it's the fact that she was the first at any Olympics, anyway. We'd just save the link to 2008 Summer Olympics for the actual article. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:00, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, but this is even tighter, I think:

My new preference is for:
- ALT3... that in 2008 Chloe Magee became the first Irish badminton player to win a match in the history of the Olympic Games?
