- Spacepine, the article meets basic DYK requirements, and as per its Good Article status, seems reliably sourced and aptly structured. However I have some comments related to the hooks and the meaning that they convey:
- ALT0: Someone who does not know that Chen Qiushi is Chinese, can misinterpret the hook, especially if they don't actually click on the article. Here, nationality and where the person is located when he went missing matters. Otherwise it is vague. Maybe simply consider adding "Chinese" to the hooks (like China is at least mentioned in ALT2). Given the circumstance this reads more as a news headline.
- ALT1: Same problems as stated for ALT0. The addition of his followers on YouTube does not help at all.
- ALT2: This is the clearest hook of course and the one that I find most suitable of the three. Though it does read more as a news headline and is just about borderline NOT misleading.
- Please note, these are just comments, I am not cutting out any of the hooks, but I would like to ask if the nominator would consider other hooks than those related to his disappearance, especially if there are any interesting ones? DTM (talk) 11:44, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

- Personally I prefer hooks that are short, don't explain everything, whilst still being accurate. Surely the point is to inspire people to click on it! The first hook makes me want to find out more, the third does not. Does ALT3 help? If I've misinterpreted Wikipedia:DYKHOOK let me know. --Spacepine (talk) 21:47, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- ALT3 does not help really. Merely a single word has been interchanged - "after" and "while" - which doesn't do much to the overall meaning.
- Also, you have not addressed this line - "I would like to ask if the nominator would consider other hooks than those related to his disappearance".
- I had doubts related to Criteria 4a of Wikipedia:DYKHOOK. Also, as per WP:DYKNOT - "A means of advertising, or of promoting [...] political causes. While it is fine to cover topics of commercial or political interest, DYK must not provide inappropriate advantage for such causes (e.g. during election campaigns or product launches)." This matter of his disappearance is still going on, and while it is a human rights issue it has become a political one too. And yes, although the hook is supposed to make the reader curious, the curiosity seems to be going in a different direction according to me. It is written in the lead "The Chinese government reportedly informed Chen's family and friends that he has been detained for the purpose of COVID-19 quarantine." - This isn't that interesting. This brings me to the last point, I had a problem related to how interesting the hooks were. But weighing everything out, everything seems ok.
- GTG. Hooks in order of preference ALT0/ALT3, ALT1 and then ALT2. DTM (talk) 03:31, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
