Charlie Getzein
[edit]- ... that Charlie Getzein (pictured), known for his "pretzel curve" pitch, won 59 games in 1886 and 1887, including four games in the 1887 World Series?

- I got busy today and am four-and-a-half hours beyond the deadline in nominating this. Hopefully, that can be overlooked. Cbl62 (talk) 05:36, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
- Article actually began expansion on February 28 from 2208 characters to over 11,000 characters. Refs look all fine (reliable with no bare URLs). Hook is interesting and is 147 characters long (under the 200 character limit). Image looks good and is free. QPQ not yet done, so no tick just yet. Although this article was submitted 3 days late, nominator/expander gave a valid reason, proven by his contributions log which clearly shows he did no editing on WP from March 2–3, thus corroborating his story. Therefore, I'll invoke a saying from the WikiCup comp—"the spirit of the rules is more important than the letter". —Bloom6132 (talk) 18:54, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
