The article is long enough at 2714 characters (456 words) readable prose. It was moved to article space on January 8 so it is new enough. It is neutral in tone and is supported by well-formatted inline citations to reliable sources. The hook fact is supported by 3 inline citations. There is no plagiarism or close paraphrasing. Earwig check showed "unlikely" and passages with similar phrasing are all in quotation marks and properly cited. The hook fact is interesting and accurate. This seems to be the editor's first DYK so no QPQ is required. About the hook: I think "was" is better than "is" because Bothie is no longer alive. I don't know if StackExchange is considered a reliable source but I found this answer there and it makes sense to me. Either hook would be good but I think the first is better. But should not "set paw" be in quotation marks if the first hook is used? It would be clearer to leave out "have", which makes it pluperfect (I think?), and just say "Bothie ...was the only dog to "set paw"...Or you could just say "set foot" or "visit". And maybe you could wikilink to Jack Russell Terrier? I think "both the North and South poles" might be preferable to just "both poles" because it's unambiguous, though ambiguity in a DYK hook isn't necessarily a bad thing. - Thank you for reviewing HazelAB, and your comments on the hook text are most appreciated. To clarify - yes this is my first nomination to DYK so no QPQ required. I have taken onboard your comments and adjusted the first hook appropriately. I have also added wikilinks to Jack Russell Terrier and for the north and south poles. Hope this is better?
