Black Dixie

[edit]
  • ... that the 1992 book Black Dixie has been called "an excellent example of African-American history, of urban history, and of collaborative effort."?

  • Comment: I have a copy of the Bolton paper, which the quote comes from, if anyone wants to read it. The full quote is: "All in all, Black Dixie is an excellent example of African-American history, of urban history, and of collaborative effort." (from Bolton p. 198) WhisperToMe (talk) 09:34, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
  • Comment: @WhisperToMe and Skr15081997: The article checks out on length and time frame. It looks good, everything is cited and I'm taking the offline reference in good faith. Perhaps the hook should mention it's a collection of essays or is a nonfiction? I also though the fact that the book's dust jacket claimed that it was the first book of its kind in any city in the southern US was a little more interesting, not that there's anything wrong with the existing hook imo. At any rate, I'm willing to give it a AGF tick after a response to the comment regarding adding that it's a collection of essays/a nonfiction work. (Unrelated, but I think {{sfn}} would help out a lot with your reference section, so that people can click from the footnote to the bullet in the biblio in question) ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 18:44, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
  • Comment @TenTonParasol: I'm perfectly fine with mentioning it's nonfiction and/or an essay collection in the hook.
  • "... that the 1992 essay collection Black Dixie has been called "an excellent example of African-American history, of urban history, and of collaborative effort."?"
  • That sounds good to me. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 14:50, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
