Bill Aylett
[edit]- ... that Bill Aylett, a member of the Australian Senate for 27 years, was the grandson of a convict transported to Australia for stealing beehives? Source: "William Edward (Bill) Aylett was of convict ancestry, his grandfather, William Aylett having been transported to Tasmania in 1845 for the theft of two beehives" [1]
- ALT1:... that on the day Bill Aylett was first elected to the Australian Senate he ran over a voter with his car? Source: "In October, Aylett tried for the Senate. Despite the disapproval of the Burnie Advocate and the fact that on election day the car he was driving hit a woman on her way to a polling booth in Launceston, he topped the poll" [2]

- Comment: Running this in the week before the 2019 Australian federal election (on 18 May) makes sense.

- Reviewing
- Article is new enough, long enough, neutral, well written and well cited.
- Both hooks are eyecatching, short enough and supported by inline citation.
- There is an issue with copyvio which needs to be fixed. Earwig shows 49% correlatation with first cited reference.Papamac (talk) 07:05, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
- User:Iainmacintyre thanks for the review. I've made a few minor wording changes and brought it down to 45%, but there's not much more I can do as the copyvio detector is mainly picking up quotations and proper nouns. Ivar the Boneful (talk) 08:01, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
- Still some duplicated phrases that could be reworded. Ideally the only duplicates should be the names and quotations. Happy to help if you like. Papamac (talk) 08:44, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
- With further rewording Earwig now down to 40%, but all of these are names or quotations.
- QPQ done so looks ready to go. Papamac (talk) 13:40, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
