Betty Jane Watson
[edit]- ... that Betty Jane Watson featured as Kathy Robinson in the 1948 Broadway musical As the Girls Go?
- ALT: ... that Betty Jane Watson created the role of Laurey in the first London production of Oklahoma!?
Created/expanded by Ssilvers (talk). Nominated by Oceanh (talk) at 21:56, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
- article is new enough and just long enough, sources support the facts. The impressive list of the roles she performed left me asking for more ;) colleagues? directors? a review? how did she act? - Do we know any of that? - I am used to career first, private life afterwards, what do you think? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:02, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- I think that it may need some copyediting. Electric Catfish 21:56, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for the review. Being only the nominator, I do not know much about the subject. In my one book on Broadway musicals I find only one appearance of Betty Jane Watson, and have now added this reference to the article. Oceanh (talk) 23:00, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- Looking at this slightly expanded article again: it is classified as a stub, I think this is true. As such, I hesitate to approve it. If nothing substantial can be added, she is no Main page personality, my POV. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:33, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- Perhaps the original author would be willing (and able) to add material of the sort requested given the circumstances of a DYK nomination? I don't see any such request on Ssilvers' talk page. BlueMoonset (talk) 13:08, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
- Good idea, I asked, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:04, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
- I am out of the country with limited computer access. I can address this after 12 August if it is still live then. -- Ssilvers (talk) 11:55, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
- Fine with me, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:01, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
- Done. I don't think that there is much more information about her career readily available (other than more reviews similar to the one quoted), and this covers the most important items. As for the hook, wouldn't it be more interesting to note that she was the original London Laurey in Oklahoma!? -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:30, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
