Bert Nievera
- ALT1:
... that Bert Nievera, dubbed the Johnny Mathis of the Philippines, encountered Mathis who watched him perform "Misty", Mathis' signature song?Source: "Frannie Kirk, who previously managed the SOS and briefly Nievera, recalled an instance at a lounge at the Sahara resort in Lake Tahoe when Nievera was doing his Mathis take before he joined the SOS. “He was doing ‘Misty,’ with eyes shut, and the real Johnny Mathis heard this voice and came to see where it was coming from,” Kirk said. “Roberto had his eyes shut and was surprised (to see Mathis) but was excited that he liked the act.”"

- New enough, long enough, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. But there is far too much linking going on inside sentences, which is why the Philippine Star ref (footnote 5) is cited so many times. Please move all the cites to the end of the sentence and eliminate the duplicates. For example:
- He resumed his singing career[1] performing in clubs,[1][2][3] including in Ember's Club in Cubao[4][1] where he was earning ₱15 a night.[1]
- This would be rewritten as:
- He resumed his singing career performing in clubs, including in Ember's Club in Cubao where he was earning ₱15 a night.[1][2][3][4]
- If you need help, let me know.
- The hook is okay but repeats Mathis' name three times. Could you try rewriting it? Hook ref verified and cited inline. No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYK credits. Yoninah (talk) 09:48, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: I appreciate your feedback. Regarding that excerpt, I placed the citations in that manner (as with others) to maintain WP:INTEGRITY, and it looks fine to me. Nevertheless, I already made little changes to that specific part in the live version so it may look less cluttered. Here's two alts, the first so "Mathis" isn't overly repeated, while the second is a new, simpler hook.

alsowatched him perform "Misty", the latter's signature song? Source: Same as ALT1 above - ALT3:
... that Bert Nievera became known as the Johnny Mathis of the Philippines after winning a singing contest?Source: https://rappler.com/entertainment/bert-nievera-baguio-boy-tribute
- WP:INTEGRITY does not include citing the same source over and over in the same sentence. I moved the cites to the end of the sentences. As it is, you have 41 cites to the same source, which is rather extreme considering that other sources verify the same material. ALT2 looks good, thank you. ALT2 hook ref verified and cited inline. ALT2 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 12:02, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
