Benedikt Kristjánsson
- ... that on Good Friday 2020, Benedikt Kristjánsson (pictured) sang all roles in a chamber version of Bach's St John Passion, broadcast live from where the composer is buried? Source: several
- Reviewed: Verizon Building
- Comment: possibly the only performance of a Bach Passion that day, which traditionally sees hundreds of them - perhaps the image should be cropped, showing other performers, - in 2020, there was more distance
Created by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 22:30, 11 April 2020 (UTC).
- Article is long enough (4193 characters), new enough (created 10 April, nominated 11 April), and article is within policy. Earwig copyvio is 24.1%, but is all proper nouns (names of places and organisations), so all fine
- Gerda Arendt As Kristjánsson is Icelandic, do you know if his name uses the Icelandic name style? I assume it would, and if so, Kristjánsson is a patronymic and so he should be referred to by his first name, Benedikt (as explained in Template:Icelandic name)
- Hook is short enough, interesting (as it's one of the only ones that day due to COVID) and well-cited
- The article is freely licenced (AGF on OTRS) and used in the article. Whilst he looks fine at low resolution, the background people look really blurry. Therefore this photo would need to be cropped before going onto the main page. Gerda Arendt are you able to crop the file?
- QPQ done
- Overall, a very interesting nomination, but a couple of issues that need straightening out. Joseph2302 (talk) 17:16, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for looking into this. I think he is by now an international person, and referred to by an international name. For the pic, I'm afraid that I like the blurredness of the people, compared to their absence, so perhaps just go without. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:56, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- I prefer Benedikt. Grimes2 (talk) 20:24, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- None of the sourcs uses Benedikt alone. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:45, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- Benedict is correct, sources are wrong. (Only replace occurrences of Kristjánsson by Benedikt.) Grimes2 (talk) 07:33, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- Better to keep this discussion on the article talk. In this hook, I feel it would be wrong to just say Benedikt, - no source says so. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:20, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- As per the discussion at Talk:Benedikt Kristjánsson#Icelandic name template, he should be referred to as Kristjánsson, so the article is fine in that regard
- As for the image, I'd prefer it to be cropped but am happy to approve the non-cropped version
- Good to go now. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:32, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
