Bear (novel)
[edit]- ... that Marian Engel's 1976 novel Bear has been called "the most controversial novel ever written in Canada"?
- ALT1:... that despite winning the 1976 Governor General's Literary Award, the novel Bear was called "spiritual gangrene" by one reviewer?

- What an interesting article! Both hooks are great – enough to get the reader to click the link without even mentioning the bear/woman affair (although a more explicit hook is also an option) – and their facts are cited inline and verified. There are no problems with the article's newness, length, references or neutrality, and I didn't see any copyvio from the online sources. Great work! 97198 (talk) 12:31, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
