Banded Quail
[edit]- ... that the Banded Quail is a shy bird which seldom strays far from cover?

- The article meets most of the criteria, but is barely long enough, being only 1550 characters with the section titles and TOC. It needs a little more said. How about including a recipe? (No! ignore my last!)
- It is neutral, has adequate citation, cites appropriate sources and doesn't seem to have any other problems.
- The hook is appropriate to the subject.

- The length was 1,675 bytes which exceeds the 1,500 required for DYK. I would have made the article longer but I was short of material. I have now found that the Cornell Lab of Ornithology has a "Life history" page so I have added extra information. The page size now is 2,215 bytes. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:15, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
- Comment: the article is ready to go. However, having added new facts, would you consider a different DYK, based on the tendency of the birds to fly in different directions, to confuse predators?

- How's this then? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:09, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- ALT1 ... that when alarmed, Banded Quail may run into the undergrowth but sometimes fly off, scattering to confuse the predator?
