Overall: Source found in article: https://www.awn.com/news/academy-award-winning-animator-b-rge-ring-dies-97. Everything is fine, but can I suggest that you try to make a more interesting hook? the article points out that he was Knighted, so Sir could be used as his title, and that he was the first Dane to win an oscar, and that he had an award named after him. Just a thought. If you want to go with this hook, its okay, just let me know and I'll pass it. DannyS712 (talk) 20:37, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
@Joseph2302: are there any sources for him being the first to win an Oscar? I easily found that he won one, but couldn't find a source that said he was first... --DannyS712 (talk) 18:36, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
DannyS712[1], the sentence "Han vandt som den første dansker nogensinde en Oscar i 1985 for den animerede kortfilm 'Anna og Bella'," which translates as "He was the first Dane winner of an Oscar in 1985 for the animated short film 'Anna and Bella'." Joseph2302 (talk) 18:48, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Then I'll AGF for your translation, and pass ALT1 --DannyS712 (talk) 19:00, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Hook was pulled from the main page due to the incorrect claim that he was the first Dane to win the Academy Award (see discussion here), and not replaced. I'm reopening the nomination and listing the proposed replacement hook below as ALT2; reviewer needed to check the updated hook, discounting the source that had been wrong about him being the first Dane to win:
ALT2 is slightly inaccurate, since it was his film and not he himself who won the Oscar. Maybe it can be rephrased further? Narutolovehinata5tccsdnew 13:08, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5:yes, it is. Alt3 is approved. I agree with Narutolovehinata5 about the issue with Alt2 --DannyS712 (talk) 08:33, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
Hi, I came by to promote this, but the article doesn't mention the Odense International Film Festival, only the Danish Animation Society Award. It might also be appropriate to mention it was his short animated film that won the Oscar. Yoninah (talk) 20:13, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
@Yoninah: Apologies, I miss-read alt3. I thought it said that the Danish... named their award, not the Odense... - approval stricken --DannyS712 (talk) 02:09, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
