  • New enough, long enough, neutrally written, adequately referenced. Unable to check for close paraphrasing as refs are foreign-language. Foreign-language hook ref AGF and cited inline. However, the hook wording is confusing. I suggest:
  • QPQ done. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 20:23, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt and Yoninah: As someone who knows nothing about opera, why is San Francisco Opera piped? It gives the impression that it occurred in San Francisco. Also, why isn't Georges Bizet either linked or fully written out (or both)? He may be a household name for some, but I don't know anything about him. We try to keep DYK hooks concise and focused on the essential. 1) Unpiped, we would have to say "at the San Francisco Opera" which is two word longer, and most readers will know that opera is typically performed in an opera house, and those who don't will perhaps not be interested in this singer of a bygone era. 2) Project opera has a convention to not link a composer when the opera has an article, to avoid a sea of blue. Someone who really doesn't know Bizet can be sure to find a link in the opera's article. We want attention to the singer ;) - Carmen, my estimate, is not one of the obscure works I normally highlight but one of the most popular of all times, and a FA. - If Bizet get's linked I will not protest, but last name only, please, like Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:16, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: Thank you for clarifying. I feel satisfied enough to move this to prep now. I don't feel it's necessary to link Bizet per your guidance. Cheers! Anarchyte (work | talk) 10:21, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
