Agnes Robertson
[edit]- ... that Agnes Robertson served in the Australian Senate until she was 79, and switched political parties at the age of 73? Source: [1] (not used in the article, but sums up her life / verifies the hook more simply than the actual sources used).
- Comment: I would've liked to have mentioned exactly why she switched parties in the hook, but I couldn't think of a way of doing so without making it overcomplicated. If anyone can think of a concise way to do that feel free to add an alternative blurb.
5x expanded by Ivar the Boneful (talk). Self-nominated at 13:20, 12 October 2017 (UTC).
- Article is long enough, was expanded recently, and meets policy on neutrality, plagiarism, and citations. The hook is interesting, short, and is fine without mentioning the reason for the party switch (though that would be an interesting alternative hook). The first part of the hook (until age 79) is not found in the article's cited source (the Senate Biography), which needs to be addressed. Sinec this is your 2nd DYK, you don't need a QPQ review. Thanks for the review, SounderBruce. I've added a ref that gives the date that her term ended. It doesn't explicitly give her age, but her date of birth is sourced so I think that's permissible under WP:CALC. I've added an alternative blurb below, but it still seems a bit clunky and I think the original is still my preference. However, if you think it's an improvement I would be happy to go with the flow. - ALT1 ... that Agnes Robertson's political party considered her too old to be a senator at 73, but she switched parties and served until she was 79?
