• Article is new enough, long enough, and well referenced. I prefer the original hook, which is very interesting and verified with inline refs. QPQ is done, no copyvio found, and the image is good looking and freely licensed. Good to go. -Zanhe (talk) 05:03, 15 January 2020 (UTC)

Nice image, but I'm not sure the hook is correct. According to the first source, as I understand it, the alga starts as a single-cell organism but becomes multicellular as the cap grows. Perhaps this hook needs a tweak for accuracy. Gatoclass (talk) 12:22, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

• @Gatoclass and Yoninah: The main source [3] states, "at cap initiation, the alga is uninucleate and unicellular" and then goes on to explain how the nucleus divides repeatedly, but never mentions the cell again. I don't think the cell divides at this late stage, because the contents are streaming about, with the multiple nuclei gathering little bits of cytoplasm round them, which they couldn't do if there were cell walls. If you put Acetabularia acetabulum into Google Scholar, you will find many journal articles describing it as a "unicellular alga Acetabularia acetabulum". Because it has such a complex reproductive process, I tried to keep the hooks simple, but if anyone wants to suggest something else, they are welcome. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 20:36, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
