I couldn't find the word "Douglas" in the article. I recognize that it links to Acer glabrum, but if the hook says "Douglas Maple", it should be mentioned in the article, too --Rosiestep (talk) 02:38, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

As noted in the Acer glabrum article, Douglas maple is one of the common names for the species. If you really are not comfortable, then going with the binomial will work. --Kev min § 03:01, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

I like the hook, so wondering if putting Douglas Maple in parentheses within the article is a possibility? If not, then I think your suggestion of an ALT1 with the binomial would be a good way to go. --Rosiestep (talk) 00:59, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
