Aan de Amsterdamse grachten
[edit]( )
- ... Johnny Kraaijkamp (pictured) could have recorded the first version of "Aan de Amsterdamse grachten", one of the best-known Dutch songs of all time, had he not been out drinking the night before?
- Comment: Perhaps a Dutch-speaking editor should look at the article from Het Parool for verification of part of the hook--that Kraaijkamp was not to be called early in the morning since he played (and drank) in the bars until late at night. And anyone who knows of Kraaijkamp would know that he would probably find this hook really funny--he was an amazing comical and theatrical talent and I still don't really wish to live in a world without him. I reviewed Template:Did you know nominations/Fishing in Vanuatu.

- Hook source and article date both check out. Bing Translator took good care of the Dutch. Ready to go! -SusanLesch (talk) 02:12, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
