A Town Called Mercy
[edit]... that the upcoming Wild West-themed Doctor Who episode, "A Town Called Mercy", was mainly flimed in Almería, Spain, the same location used to film many Westerns such as A Fistful of Dollars?
- Comment: The article was created from a redirect by an IP yesterday, though with information I had written in Doctor Who (series 7). I expanded the article today with more information.

- Ooh, sorry. Didn't read that bit. Will I be able to nominate this once the article has been expanded (like after it airs)? Glimmer721 talk 17:24, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
- Either you can expand it to 1500B now, or, when it is aired, you can expand it five-fold to about 5600B. Chris857 (talk) 17:27, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
- Have now expanded to nearly 1700B. Cheers! Glimmer721 talk 02:20, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- Needs full review. Chris857 (talk) 20:40, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Article is currently over 1600B, more than big enough. Solid enough writing and the hook works. I'd really prefer to see American Frontier used instead of "Wild West", as it's both encyclopaedic in tone and skips over an unnecessary redirect; aside from that we're good to go. Might be worth suggesting File:Mountains in Almeria.jpg or File:Almeria Muralla de Jayran fcm.jpg to accompany it; I would be fine with approving a free image of the area. - I used "Wild West" as that is what all the sources are saying , but I changed it to incorporate both in the lead (or were you referring to the DYK hook?). I plan on adding an image once the article is long enough, as right now it would be shunted down below the infobox. Glimmer721 talk 16:22, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- The text that has been incorporated from other articles (in this case the season 7 article) does not count toward the 1500 new character total (see WP:DYK), because it is not new to Wikipedia. There's also a rule (WP:DYKSG, A5) which says that the copied text must itself be 5x expanded. Fortunately, I think these are going to end up to be similar numbers: though I'm not exactly sure what was brought over and what was added in the process, an initial estimate gives a copied number as 354 characters, which I think we'll go with unless someone finds more material than I did. 354 puts the minimum at 1770 by the 5x expansion rule, but 1500 new characters plus 354 copied is 1854 prose characters, a larger number; we have to take the higher of the two minimums. The article is currently 1702 prose characters according to DYK check, which means at least 152 more characters must be added. Also, since the article now says "around" Almeria rather than "in", the hook should also be changed; my suggestion:
- ALT1: ... that the upcoming Wild West-themed Doctor Who episode, "A Town Called Mercy", was mainly filmed around Almería, Spain, the same location used for over 100 Westerns including A Fistful of Dollars?
- Note that, regardless, the sentence containing the Westerns and A Fistful of Dollars itself needs a footnote, because all hook facts must have inline sources by the end of the sentence involved—either of the two used after the subsequent sentence will do, though there's no need to use both. - Agreed about hook change. I have included the in-line citation and added some more. It now reads 1950B. Glimmer721 talk 18:48, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- It looks good, and the length is over 100 characters beyond what I said was needed. Unfortunately, since I've contributed the ALT, I can't turn around and approve it; I'll drop a note on Grapple X's page to see if a recheck is possible. BlueMoonset (talk) 19:53, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
