- Date and length fine. I would prefer the original because it has the broadest reach by mentioning both teams. However @Songwaters: there are a large number of citation needed tags which would have to be removed/sourced before this can proceed. A QPQ is not needed as this is their first nomination. No close paraphrasing. Just needs those tags sorted then ping me and I'll have another look. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 09:52, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
- @The C of E: Thanks for reviewing my nomination! The citation needed tags have been fixed. Songwaters (talk) 17:08, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
- Good to go then. Well done. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 19:11, 5 November 2019 (UTC)

- Hi, I came by to promote this. You have a good hook angle here, but the sources do not name these teams at all, only saying they were "likely" to be the teams that would be cut. Your article also uses this nuanced wording. Please tweak the hook. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 23:04, 28 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: What do you think of the new hook?
- ALT3:
... that the Minnesota Twins and the Montreal Expos may have gone out of business in the failed 2001 Major League Baseball contraction planSongwaters (talk) 23:13, 28 November 2019 (UTC) - @Songwaters: hooks should not be edited so as to retain the thread for reviewers and promoters to see. I have added your new hook at the bottom of the thread. But you are making an assumption in ALT3 that is not verified. The Dodgers "may have" gone out of business too; no teams were actually named. - ALT4: ... that the 2001 Major League Baseball contraction plan nearly led to MLB downsizing for the first time in over a century?
- @Yoninah: Here's a fifth hook, with new info I just added to the article. Songwaters (talk) 00:10, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Songwaters: thanks for the alt. But it really doesn't have broad audience interest; we are constantly getting comments from other editors that they aren't even familiar with the mechanics of baseball. Only a real fan would know how many teams there are in the league and what it would mean to lose a few. Can you pull something out of the article that would have broader interest? - ALT5: ... that the 2001 Major League Baseball contraction plan nearly drove two MLB teams out of business?
- ALT6:
... that the Washington Nationals were originally the Montreal Expos before relocating after the failed 2001 Major League Baseball contraction plan? - ALT7:
... that the 2001 Major League Baseball contraction plan nearly led to the first downsizing by a Major North American professional sports league since 1978? - @Yoninah: The first one's pretty simple and straightforward. The other two are hopefully enough; I'm starting to run out of ideas. Songwaters (talk) 18:52, 30 November 2019 (UTC)
