1948 Illinois gubernatorial election
- ... that in the 1948 Illinois gubernatorial election, Adlai Stevenson II (pictured) won a 572,067 vote margin of victory, a record at the time for Illinois gubernatorial elections?
- ALT1:... that in the 1948 Illinois gubernatorial election, Adlai Stevenson II (pictured) was elected as only the fourth Democratic post-American Civil War Governor of Illinois?
- ALT2:... that in the 1948 Illinois gubernatorial election, Adlai Stevenson II (pictured) won an upset victory over incumbent Dwight H. Green?
- ALT3:... that in the 1948 Illinois gubernatorial election, Adlai Stevenson II (pictured) successfully ran on a pledge to "clean up" Illinois politics?
- Comment: Turned this from redirect into article

- This was indeed expanded from a redirect and is long enough and has several citations. Every paragraph needs to have at least one inline citation, so I am adding an inline tag that needs to be resolved. Everything appears to be written neutrally. All four proposed hooks are verified and cited inline in the article. Perhaps ALT0 is the most interesting? YMMV. The image looks good at that size and is freely licensed from the Library of Congress. You are QPQ exempt as this is your first DYK nomination, which is surprising to me. There's lots of election and politician articles that need creating and expanding. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:26, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Muboshgu: Remedied the one paragraph without a citation. SecretName101 (talk) 17:39, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Although, this is my third DYK nomination though, for transparency. Years ago I did one that did not get approved, as it turned out the article was not qualified for DYK. I recently nominated 1930 United States Senate election in Illinois, which was approved, I believe. SecretName101 (talk) 17:42, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
