1937 Series (banknotes)
[edit]- ... that the 1937 Series of banknotes of the Canadian dollar were the first to have bilingual printing?
5x expanded by Mindmatrix (talk). Self nominated at 23:30, 14 March 2014 (UTC).
- ALT1: ... that the Bank of Canada described the use of $2 banknotes of the 1937 Series as appearing "like migratory birds and disappearing like the lemmings"?
- ALT2: ... that the 1937 Series $2 denomination of Canadian banknotes was shunned in western Canada because it was associated with prostitution?
- The article is big enough and expanded enough, even including copyright infringement removal. Neutral. Plenty of references. I can confirm alt1 which is cited and confirmed by the reference, which can be read at https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2194&dat=19490205&id=1IY0AAAAIBAJ&sjid=RtwFAAAAIBAJ&pg=6145,1138511. I cannot confirm alt2 as I can't read the reference. So I will say good to go with alt1. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:45, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- I've filled in the title for one ref. An abstract, including the claim for ALT2, can be found here. BTW: I'm currently collecting images to upload for this article, so if promotion can be delayed a few days, I can add a free-content image to this nomination as well. (Of course, the image will need review as well.) Mindmatrix 14:04, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
