1905 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (automobiles)
[edit]- ... that at the 1905 International Tourist Trophy motor race, cars were towed to the start line by horses to save fuel?
- Comment: Don't think the image will work at the small resolution (it barely works at larger ones!)

5x expanded by Harrias (talk). Self-nominated at 22:35, 28 January 2016 (UTC).
- 5x expansion and expansion date verified. Long enough, well written, and well sourced. Spot checking found no significant copied or closely paraphrased text (and in any case most of the sources are old enough to be out of copyright). Hook is short enough, interesting, and sourced; I'm taking the source AGF because it is subscription-only. Good to go without the image, which I agree is not good at the small size used for DYK. I suggest that the article should be moved to 1905 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy per WP:NAMB since it is not ambiguous and does not need a disambiguator, but that can be done independently of DYK. —David Eppstein (talk) 20:11, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. I've delayed the renaming issue, as I'm still trying to work out what the common name is. A lot of the contemporary sources call it the "International Tourist Trophy Race". But whichever way it goes, I agree that the (automobiles) disambiguator should be dropped. Harrias talk 20:15, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
