- ... that in the 0x88 chess board representation, 8x16 boards are used? Source: https://web.archive.org/web/20130212063528/http://www.cis.uab.edu/hyatt/boardrep.html

- Comment: Script to check length seems to be failing

- @DannyS712: Just a comment. Hooks need to have the article linked in them, please could you rephrase the hook to include the article's name? Cowlibob (talk) 12:21, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
- @DannyS712: The DYK check doesn't work, but article is no doubt long enough. Created in time, QPQ done, hook is interesting. Copyvio is down, but I'm assuming no issues. However, a citation is directly needed in the article for the claim "In the 0x88 board-representation the layout is spread out to cover an 8-by-16 board." Let me know with a ping when this is done. - @DannyS712: Could you point to me as to where in the citation it says that? Also, place the reference right at the end oof the sentence that makes the claim. I'm noticing now that the works cited and references are separated when they shouldn't be; that might need some cleaning up. - @Nice4What: See under "0X88 board representation" - "you will see that the board looks like this" --DannyS712 (talk) 03:15, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- The reference is at the end of the paragraph because it is the source for the entire paragraph; the works cited is split per Help:Shortened footnotes --DannyS712 (talk) 03:18, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- Okay, I understand about the citations. However, that's not a direct citation about the 8x16 board. We'd be making our own interpretation that that would be an 8x16 board. Is it possible to find another source then? Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 03:20, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean about interpretation - it is shown in an 8x16 layout with the description that it is the board --DannyS712 (talk) 03:52, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- The citation doesn't have an explicit description of the board, just a diagram that we must interpret on our own. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 12:04, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, with the source explaining the layout, which is presented as a template, this should be good to go. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 12:15, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
